In a city where superlatives like ‘tallest’, ‘biggest’, ‘largest’ and ‘most expensive’ are norms, a developer has come up with a novel residence concept that is set to be welcomed by residents of Dubai. MAG Property Development (MAG PD), an established name in the UAE real estate market, has teamed up with New York-based international consultancy Delos Signature to offer a residential community focused on the general wellness of inhabitants.
The site chosen for the project, Dubai Creek, is itself a sight for sore eyes. The chosen site of the project will fall in Phase II of the Dubai Health Care City, opposite the wildlife sanctuary.
In what is to be a unique gated community, MAG PD is planning to introduce features and amenities that will ensure unhindered access to cleaner air and water as well as energy efficient and environment-friendly lighting and water supplying sources like taps. MAG PD plans to officially launch the project in the early part of the coming year. Per plans, the creek-side project will contain 16 super-premium mansions, a number of residential units in several low-rise buildings, a wellness hotel and a 100,000-square-foot center. The residential units will have a freehold status, so investors of all nationalities will have a chance to own property in the community.
“It will represent a mix of health-care sciences and real estate,” said Alfredo Carvajal, president of Delos Signature. “There are many ways to bring in a wellness way of living when developing a single-family detached home. This is what will be attempted with the MAG project for the first time in the Middle East. While it’s easier to incorporate into new builds, some of the solutions can be retrofitted into existing structures. But that’s not our immediate priority.”
Michael Muller, the chief projects officer at MAG, said, “Prior to the actual launch, we wanted to start talking about wellness real estate.” “With new concepts you have to introduce them slowly — the market situation is still harsh, quite competitive. But with the Delos association, we have a chance to provide a full wellness ecosystem in the residential space,” Muller added.
MAG is currently focusing on high-end residential options for the introduction of its wellness concept, but the developer believes its new solution could also be replicated in more affordable units in the emirate.
